Dr Crystal Cheong is a consultant in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where she helms the sleep surgery subspecialty clinics. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship in 2020, and completed the ACGME fellowship in Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, United States of America, in 2022. Dr Cheong's training has served her well in addressing both the medical and surgical aspects of a wide range of sleep disorders. She is passionate in providing effective, holistic and patient-centred care for sleep conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea, and is involved in scientific industry trials to explore new frontiers of treatment. She has also published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Cheong graduated from Monash University, Australia, and proceeded on to become a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), before attaining her Master of Medicine (Otolaryngology) and specialist accreditation in Otolaryngology. She is the Otolaryngology undergraduate programme director at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, a role which enables her to actively educate and train future generations of doctors.
